The new type of megacar deserves megagears

Gemera, Koenigsegg’s new megacar lives up to its name, ‘ge mera’ meaning ‘give more’. It simply stretches the vocabulary. And it’s not only about the acceleration or top speed but the totally new experience you get with it. As Koenigsegg’s first four-seater and with over 1MW of power, the Gemera has created a totally new vehicle category – the Mega GT.

Although this car comfortably seats four adults, the innovative, unprecedented drive train and other technology give both driver and passengers the feel of a mid-engine two-seater. Its four-seat capacity only becomes evident when the doors swing open. This is the Koenigsegg megacar experience for sharing with family and friends in a way totally unknown in a car of this power and capability.

The superior power comes from three e-motors and a combustion engine, the ‘Little Giant’ or a V8. Both powertrain options of the Gemera megacar come paired with the revolutionary Koenigsegg Dark Matter e-motor – reducing weight and complexity while raising total power and providing instant torque from 0rpm. In all cases, an enormous amount of power goes through the gears, which must do the same as the revolutionary car, give more.

At ATA Gears, we are obviously excited to have been chosen as the supplier of this vital factor behind this revolutionary car’s power, the spiral bevel gears in its powertrain. Supplying gears that fit the bill: small and light and yet able to handle the enormous amount of power. This is a responsibility that we do not take lightly: quite the contrary.
